Rachael Ream joined the Duke University Office of Counsel in August 2023 where she advises Duke University and Duke University Health System on a wide variety of health care operational, regulatory, and transactional matters.
Prior to joining the Office of Counsel, Ms. Ream was the Deputy General Counsel for a not-for profit health system. Before moving to an in-house role, Ms. Ream practiced health care law at several national firms and as a partner at a boutique health care firm. She regularly advised health systems, hospitals, medical groups, ambulatory surgical centers, pharmacies, and durable medical equipment companies on matters involving health care regulations, compliance, audits, internal investigations, professional and facility licensing, privacy, strategic transactions, medical staff issues, and corporate governance.
Ms. Ream received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Toledo, her Doctorate in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in Biochemistry at Stanford‘s School of Medicine. She is a 2008 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
