Leighton Parks Roper III

Leighton Parks Roper III joined Duke on March 26, 2007. He advises Duke University and Duke University Health System on a wide variety of health care operational, regulatory and transactional matters.

Mr. Roper previously practiced with a large transatlantic law firm. Prior to entering private law practice, he clerked for Chief Judge Sidney S. Eagles of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He also draws on years of previous experience in state government and political campaigns.

Mr. Roper graduated from the University of Virginia in 1990 and from Duke School of Law in 1999. He is the past Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Health Law Council, and is an active member of various associations of university and health care attorneys.
