LaKeshia Banks joined the Duke University Office of Counsel in June 2022.  She advises Duke University and Duke University Health System on matters involving student and academic issues, Title IX and related discrimination and harassment matters, minors and other topics.

Prior to joining Duke, Ms. Banks was in private practice where she practiced employment litigation and worked with the firm’s education practice group on behalf of colleges and universities.  She also served as a Bar examination coach. Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Banks worked as a social worker for academic medical centers, where she provided care coordination and support to patients and their families.

Ms. Banks received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University, her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
