Senior Legal Fellow
LaKeshia Banks joined Duke University Office of Counsel in June 2022 as a Senior Legal Fellow for Duke University and Duke University Health System. Ms. Banks graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law in May 2019, where she served as staff and senior editor of the North Carolina Central Law Review.
Ms. Banks previously worked in private practice as an Associate with a prominent law firm in Raleigh where she practiced employment litigation and worked with the firm’s education practice on Title IX and other student related matters. She also served as a Bar Exam Coach for Elon University School of Law. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked as a Medical Social Worker for academic hospital systems, where she provided care coordination, counseling and support to patients and families with various biopsychosocial concerns.
Ms. Banks obtained her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012 and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University in 2008.
