Anne Sutton joined Office of Counsel in July 2021, where she advises Duke University and Duke University Health System on legal issues involving IT commercial contracts and transactions, licensing, data use, privacy and security.
Prior to joining Duke, Ms. Sutton was in private practice with a global law firm based in Chicago where her primary focus involved structuring and negotiating various technology-based commercial agreements, IP and technology support for M&A transactions, and providing strategic legal advice to clients in the technology sector. Her previous work experience also includes working in the IP Department with multinational and global law firms.
Ms. Sutton received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 2001 and her law degree from UIC School of Law in 2006. She is a member of the Illinois and North Carolina bar and a registered patent attorney.
