William Nicholson began work as Associate University Counsel with Duke University on September 1, 2010. His focus is on international efforts. Between 2001 and 2010, Bill worked for the University of Washington at Seattle where he practiced in the areas of international programs, finance, tax, business transactions, litigation, intellectual property and public records. From 1995 to 2001, with the Antitrust Division of the Washington Attorney General’s Office, Bill worked on a number of large antitrust and consumer protection cases, including tobacco and sweepstakes litigation. From 1990 to 1995, he worked in San Francisco as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division, focusing on criminal prosecution. Bill received a B.A. in economics from Syracuse University in 1985 and a J.D. (Magna Cum Laude) from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1990.
