Meg Goodman Richards joined Duke University Office of Counsel in October 2014. Ms. Richards advises Duke University and Duke University Health System on legal matters including corporate law, contracts, business transactions, procurement, and entrepreneurial initiatives and provides advice on other general corporate, business, and transactional matters. Ms. Richards received her BBA in Accounting from Millsaps College and her J.D. from Southern Methodist University. She was in private practice in Dallas, Texas from 1985-1990 and worked for over ten years as an Associate General Counsel for GlaxoSmithKline. Since that time Ms. Richards has practiced law in Durham as well as served as majority owner and adviser to a start-up company that designs and markets innovative structural composite materials. Ms. Richards is a member of the North Carolina Bar and is a native of Jackson, Mississippi.
