Ms. Gudaitis has practiced law since 1986 and has been a member of the Office of Counsel for Duke University and Duke University Health System (DUHS) since 1999. She advises on a variety of legal issues, including health care regulations, corporate governance, contracts, acquisition and affiliation transactions, HIPAA compliance, public financing, and real estate transactions. Her practice focuses on outward facing transactions and contracts, including the Duke LifePoint relationship and the Duke Connected Care ACO. Ms. Gudaitis also serves as the contact point in the Office of Counsel for Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital and Network Services.
Prior to her employment with Duke, Ms. Gudaitis worked at Carolinas Healthcare System, which operates a multi-hospital system with Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC as its flagship hospital. Before joining Carolinas Healthcare System, Ms. Gudaitis was a partner in the law firm of Smith Helms Mullins & Moore (now McGuire Woods), specializing in health care and corporate law, and handling numerous mergers and acquisitions and venture capital transactions. Ms. Gudaitis received her law degree in 1986 and undergraduate degree in 1980, both from Duke University.
